Reason
Since things went sour at our former church, McLean Baptist, Linda and I have been visiting around looking at other churches. We have not found one yet where we have said, "This is definitely it." So we are still looking.
End of the search
As of mid-August 2007, we are back at McLean Baptist. The previous minister is gone. The church may have a chance now, though it has suffered quite a blow. There are no Sunday evening nor Wednesday evening services, except for Wednesday evening youth activities run by the Ten Point Coalition. So on Sunday nights, one or both of us attend evensong at Holy Communion Episcopal.

It looks like we shall be focusing on Baptist churches for a while, particularly Leawood Baptist. We may be settling on Leawood.
Sovereign Grace Baptists locally?
Well, what do you know? It looks like there are at least three Sovereign Grace Baptist churches locally. I'm going to try them. Based on experience with Pilgrims' Hope, I had better drive by each first.
Grace Memorial Baptist Church

The address given for this church is on a side street in Frayser. When I drove by it on Saturday, 1/6/2007, the name on the building was different. When I called, the pastor's phone had been disconnected. These are not hopeful signs.

None of the above churches have panned out yet. I did visit Bridgetown Baptist, in Nesbitt, MS, on 3/18/2007.
