Sooner or later I shall start writing about my personal history as I have the time and think of things to write.

Born: September 16, 1952, about 4:30 AM, at South Highlands Baptist Hospital, Birmingham, Alabama.

Grew up at 1380 Hueytown Road, Hueytown, Alabama.

Attended W. I. Pittman Junior High School (Old Pittman, now Hueytown Middle School) 1964-1967

Attended Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama, 1970-1974

Attended Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, 1974-1979

Finished A. M. in Math, 1976

Taught at Wabash College, Crawfordsville, Indiana, 1979-1982, while finishing Ph. D. in Math

Taught at Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, 1982-1988

Took summer courses in Computer Science at Indiana University, 1985 and 1986

Finished Ph. D. in Computer Science, 1993

Went to work programming at FedEx in Memphis, Tennesee, have been there ever since

Sometime back in the 1960s, the city of Hueytown built a new post office. The old one was right behind our house on High School Road. They built the new one over on Sunset Drive, I believe it was, across from what used to be the Iceberg restaurant. They had the grand opening, and I and several school friends went. I mailed the first letter mailed there. I placed it in the mail slot in the inside of the post office, then got to go around behind during the open house and see it there. One of the post office employees then picked it up and put it in the outside mailbox. Some time later they closed this post office and moved the service back to Bessemer. The building is now some other kind of office.
